Quick answer: paste a URL and get an on-page SEO report of what Googlebot sees in the raw HTML — titles, headings, canonical, schema, alt coverage, links and indexability. One page, one fetch, no signup.

What a one-page report can and cannot tell you
This fetches your URL once, with Googlebot's user agent, and reads the HTML that comes back. That bounds what it can honestly report.
It can see: title, meta description, robots directives, canonical, html lang, hreflang alternates, heading counts, JSON-LD types, image count and alt coverage, internal and external link counts, word count in the raw markup, viewport, and whether the final URL is HTTPS.
It cannot see: load speed or Core Web Vitals, anything rendered by JavaScript, crawl depth, broken links, duplicate content across your site, backlinks, or rankings. Those need a crawl, a rendering engine or third-party data, and a tool that claims them from one fetch is guessing.
The JavaScript finding is the useful one
If the report comes back with 40 words and no headings on a page that visibly has plenty of both, the page renders its content client-side. That is worth knowing, because it is approximately what a crawler sees on its first pass. Google does render JavaScript, but rendering is queued separately and can lag the initial crawl — so a page whose content only exists after hydration is slower to index and more fragile than one whose content is in the HTML.
SEO for single-page applications covers what to do about it.
Reading the checks
| Check | Why it is weighted heavily |
|---|---|
| Indexable | A noindex beats every other signal on the page. Nothing else matters if this is wrong. |
| Canonical | A canonical pointing somewhere else tells Google to index that page instead of this one. Cross-language canonicals are a common accidental version of this. |
| One H1 | Two H1s make the page's subject ambiguous; zero leaves it undeclared. |
| Title / description | The only copy you control in the results page. |
| Word count | Under 200 words a page rarely answers a query completely enough to rank for it. |
| Structured data | Not a ranking factor, but the gate on every rich result. |
The warnings are deliberately soft where the right answer depends on the page. A 250-word page is thin for a guide and completely normal for a contact page.
Doing this across a whole store
One URL at a time is fine for spot-checking and useless for a catalogue. RankEngine runs these checks across every product, collection, page and article in a Shopify store, writes the fixes back through the Admin API, and re-reads the live resource to confirm each one landed — see free SEO audit for the store-wide version and SEO reporting for how the results are tracked over time.

Frequently asked questions
What does this report check?
The on-page signals that can be read from a single HTML response: title and meta description presence and length, heading structure, canonical, robots meta, language and hreflang, structured-data types, image alt coverage, internal and external link counts, word count, viewport and HTTPS. It fetches the page as Googlebot and reports what Googlebot would see.
What does it NOT check?
Anything needing more than one page fetch or a rendering engine: Core Web Vitals and real load speed, JavaScript-rendered content, crawl depth, broken links, backlinks, rankings, and duplicate content across a site. It is an on-page report for one URL, not a site crawl — treating it as a full audit would be the wrong conclusion to draw from it.
Why does the score differ from other tools?
Every SEO scoring tool invents its own weights, so no two agree and none of them is Google. The score here is a summary of the checks listed below it, and the checks are what matter. Read the rows, not the number — a page can score 90 and still be the wrong page for its query.
Does it work on a JavaScript-rendered site?
Only partially, and this is worth knowing. The report reads the raw HTML response with no JavaScript execution. A site that renders its content client-side will show a near-empty word count and no headings here — which is genuinely useful information, because it is also roughly what a crawler sees on its first pass.
Can I run it on any site?
Any publicly reachable HTTP or HTTPS URL. Private addresses, localhost and internal hostnames are rejected on every redirect hop, and there is a rate limit of a few requests a minute per visitor. Pages behind a login or a bot challenge will return whatever the challenge page contains rather than the real page.
Is my URL stored?
No. The fetch happens on request and nothing about it is written down.
